Camping at Gross Reservoir

We had another great camping trip to Gross Reservoir (not a very appropriate name), near Boulder, with the Koenigs. We had to do some serious 4 wheeling to get in, but it was well worth the trip. The campsite was fairly secluded with a beautiful view of the reservoir. We had a dutch oven dinner and made s'mores by the fire. The kids were in heaven! Fishing wasn't too successful, but they had fun anyway. (the boys wanted to catch a shark) The kids are turning into quite the campers, and already want to go again. A fantastic trip!!!

Grammy Anne's Visit

Had a wonderful week with Grammy Anne. She went to tumbling class, Wildlife Experience, The Dinosaur exhibit at The Denver Botanical Gardens (Lance was a bit scared by the dinosaurs at first, but warmed up to them when he saw his favorite - Spinosaurus), and several walks. We put her to work moving rocks in the yard (okay, mostly organizing rocks, but she did a fair amount of moving as well). We had a great Father's Day dinner with the traditional butter rolls. The boys had a blast with their Grammy Anne and Rachel warmed up to her as well. Having a live-in babysitter is something I could get used to! Melanie and I went to a movie together for the first time in a long time. All in all a great week!!!

Rachel's Birthday

Rachel turned one and Lance and Russell are having a ball playing with her dolls - changing diapers, pushing around the doll stroller, etc. Who knew they've been missing out on girls toys this whole time! We had to blow out the candle about ten times so everyone could have a turn. (except Rachel, hmm?) Happy Birthday Rachel!!!

Devil's Head 2009

Saturday we took our annual Devil's Head hike, this time with the Johnsons and Welchs. The kids made it all the way to the top! It's a great family hike (about 1.5 miles each way) to a fire lookout with beautiful views.
