Pebble Beach

I was at a meeting in Monterey so decided to splurge and play Pebble Beach.  It was a long shot to get a tee time but through strategic calling and some luck I got the last remaining one.  I got paired up with some nice guys who let me share their cart and caddies and we were off.  Playing with a caddie made all the difference in the world and it was a phenomenal round of golf.  The course and scenery were amazing, as well a the 50 million dollar houses lining some of the fairways.  I actually felt my heart racing walking down the first fairway.  It was fun to play where the professionals have and where multiple U.S. Open championships have been played.  It was a day of golf that will not likely be matched.

 The start

 The iconic 7th hole

 Hole # 8 - another iconic beauty

 #17

And finally 18.  A beautiful par 5 (no grandstands filled with cheering fans, however)

Bolder Boulder

This is a little late, but three weeks ago I ran the Bolder Boulder, "America's Best 10K".  I went up with Justin Arbuckle, John Gillespie, and Pie Konchar.  The race was a blast.  There were about 50,000 runners and 6.2 miles of bands, entertainment, people watching, slip-n-slides, food and drink hand-outs, costumes, etc.  We ended in the CU stadium and watched waves and waves of people come across the finish line.  I did pretty well, finishing in the top third of all runners.  I think I'll make it a yearly tradition.
